Do Metal Roofs Rust in Tennessee Humidity?
A straight answer about rust, finish quality, and what to expect from a properly installed metal roof in our climate.
Quality metal roofing panels are coated with a metallic and a paint system designed to resist rust for decades. The painted Galvalume panels we supply are warrantied against red rust through the substrate for many years when installed correctly.
Where rust does show up, it is almost always at cut edges that were not finished, or at fasteners that were overdriven and broke the paint and washer seal. Both are install issues, not material issues.
